Alessandra De Rossi was willing to be free surrogate for sister Assunta amid pregnancy struggles

After nearly 20 years, Assunta De Rossi finally got to be a mom last October.

Sister Alessandra was with her through her difficulties and at one point offered to be her surrogate to help her have a child.

The “Through Night and Day” star recounted the hardships her older sister went through just to have a baby while on Toni Gonzaga’s online show “I Feel U” yesterday, Feb. 21.

“Nung nagpa-IVF siya tapos hindi nag-work, may dalawa pa siyang eggs na natitira. Tapos sabi niya, ‘Ayaw ko na siya pagdaanan. Ayaw ko na pagdaanan iyong feeling,’” she recalled. “Sabi ko, ‘Gusto mo ba ako ang magdala? Wala naman din akong direksyon sa buhay.’”

(“When she tried IVF and it did not work, she had two more eggs left. She said, ‘I do not want to go through it anymore. I do not want to go through the feeling.’ I told her, ‘Do you want me to carry the baby? My life has no direction anyway.'”)

But as fate would have it, Alessandra would be back in the spotlight.

“Sumabog iyong ‘Kita Kita.’ Sabi ko, ‘Wait lang, may pupuntahan pa pala ako,’” she quipped.

(“’Kita Kita became a hit.’ I said, ‘Wait, turns out I still do have somewhere to go.’”)

Even as she was willing to be a surrogate for free, her sister did not take her seriously.

“Willing ako pero tinawanan lang niya ako. So hindi ko alam kung kinonsider ba niya in her head,” Alessandra said.

(I was willing to do it but she just laughed at me. So I do not know if she considered it in her mind.)

Assunta announced her last May and called her child with politician Jules Ledesma a “miracle baby.”

The two sisters, only a year apart from each other, are so close that Assunta after Alessandra. Baby Fiore’s full name is Giuilia Fiorentina Alessandra. JB
