UST's Eya Laure to play in Game 3 vs Ateneo, says dad
MANILA, Philippines — Eya Laure will definitely be playing for UST in Game Three of the UAAP women's volleyball finals, her father Eddie Laure confirmed.
In an interview with CNN Philippines, the older Laure reassured fans that his daughter will see action against Ateneo on Saturday.
"For sure maglalaro siya bukas kahit na may masakit man sa kanya or siguro may nararamdaman siya na pain dun sa paa niya," the Laure patriarch said during the interview.
"Sabi ko nga sa kanya,' Ate more on mental yan. Kahit may masakit man sayo, wala nang bukas to eh,'" he added.
Laure suffered an ankle injury after an awkward landing during the third set in UST's Game Two against Ateneo on Wednesday.
Despite returning to the game a little later, Laure struggled to get back her offensive rhythm, and UST failed to claim the crown.
With the title on the line, the Rookie of the Year is set to give whatever it takes even with her injury.
