TNT's Pogoy makes Beermen pay for lax defense in Game 3
MANILA, Philippines — RR Pogoy erupted for 29 points in TNT KaTropa's 115-105 statement win over the San Miguel Beermen in Game Three of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals on at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Friday.
Waxing hot from deep, Pogoy stymmied any momentum from SMB late in the game when the Beermen were attempting to stage a comeback after wasting a 17-point lead. He scored 12 of TNT's 29 points in the final canto.
This performance, he says, is simply the cherry on top.
"Siguro ang pinakaimportante yun nanalo kami. Bonus na lang yung maganda yung laro ko," he said after the game.
"Gusto talaga namin bumounce back kasi yung Game Two nasa amin na, natalo pa," he added.
Pogoy shot 5/9 from the 3-point line, a far cry from his 1/6 performance in Game Two.
The 6'2" guard thinks his poor shooting the previous game spelled the difference.
"Nalilibre lang ako kasi nung Game Two pangit yung shooting [ko]... so yun pinabayaan nila ko," Pogoy said.
Pogoy and the TNT KaTropa look to take a 3-1 lead over San Miguel in Game Four on Sunday.
