Tabebuia tree in bloom in Bohol catching attention
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Philippines – A tree on a vacant lot across a mall here has been catching the attention of many Boholanos because it teems with vibrant pink flowers.
They stop and take photos of the pink tabebuia or trumpet tree which blooms during summer. Some even thought it was a variety of the famed cherry blossoms in Japan.
According to residents nearby, the tree didn’t produce flowers in the last two summers.
The tree’s soft pink color gives a different feel to the surroundings, making it great for photos.
The eye-catching tree even had some netizens suggesting that more of them be planted.
If it thrives in the country, netizens suggested planting more trees.
Various flowered trees are found in other parts of the country which bloom during summer.
In Maribojoc town, fire trees (or flame trees, Delonix regia) which grow in relative abundance were almost all abloom.
