CIDG nabs 2, seizes guns, thousands of ammunition rounds in Cavite
MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were arrested in Cavite on Monday by the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
A number of high-powered guns, thousands of assorted ammunition, assorted gun parts and accessories were seized from the suspects.
CIDG National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnold Thomas Ibay identified the suspects as Joseph De Lima, 54, and Rolly Iliw-Iliw, 39.
Police said the two were arrested at Precision Gunsite Inc. Compound in Barangay Langkaan 2, Sitio Humayao, Dasmariñas City, Cavite where the suspects were also arrested.
The CIDG seized three caliber 5.56 rifles, a 12-gauge shotgun, a caliber .9mm pistol and three caliber .45 pistols.
Also seized from the suspects were more than 5,700 rounds of assorted ammunition, one kilogram of gun powder, three boxes of unknown caliber ammunition heads and assorted gun parts and accessories.
Meanwhile, a complaint for Violation of RA. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act are being readied against the two suspects. /muf
