Cherie Gil tags Ian Veneracion as 'a true Renaissance man'

Veteran actress Cherie Gil recently watched fellow celebrity Ian Veneracion’s concert and called him “a true Renaissance man.”

The first night of Veneracion’s “IAN: IN COLOR” solo concert was held on Thursday, July 11, at the Music Museum in San Juan, with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid as his special guests.

Gil took to social media where she shared photos of Veneracion from his concert and praised him for remaining genuine and kind.

“There are very few people in the industry who remain grounded, genuine and kind. And @ianveneracion1 is definitely one of them,” Gil said via Instagram.

Gil added she did not hesitate to go to the concert when she was invited by her friend Mary Anne Gomez and was happy she did so.

I was sure to see a true renaissance man with so much to share. I wasn’t wrong,” said Gil. “And I’m glad I went. His song choices were perfect but more than that he sincerely welcomed all of us into his world of beautiful myriad of colors.”

Veneration’s first concert was held in Resorts World last 2018. He shared in a report last June, however, that this concert would have a different approach. He also said he is open to performing as long as people are interested to watch his shows.

“It will be more intimate, hence more interactive. Plus, the arrangements of the songs are something I would describe as musically more playful…” Veneracion then. “The main point of this new road is a realization that whether in front of a big crowd, or just jamming with friends, I’ve come to terms with the fact that I can’t psychologically survive without music.”

For someone who used to be in front of many people, Veneracion sure has gone on to prove that he can hold his own on stage as a musician and singer.

The second night of Veneracion’s solo concert will be held today, June 12, at the Music Museum.  /ra
