Because of COVID-19, most places around the world are under quarantine or lockdown, and people are advised to observe social distancing—staying at least six feet away from other people. The outbreak limits everyone from doing so many things, most especially going outside. Non-essential communal places are closed, including malls, parks, and even fitness centers.
Despite being restricted inside their houses, people have found ways to keep healthy and fit. Home exercises are in, and many have even started to take their workouts to social media.
Among the most popular workouts is the push-up. Also known as press ups, this exercise is currently trending on Instagram as people have started broadcasting IG stories and short twitter videos of what is called “the push-up challenge.” This trend has since become viral over the weekend.
As the name suggests, you simply do a set of 10 push-ups in front of the camera, and also nominate other people who are supposed to do the exercise to continue the chain. To make things more interesting, some netizens have even added weights or asked someone to sit on their backs before they drop down.
A lot of celebrities have participated in the challenge, some of which are Canadian singer Justin Bieber, NBA star Russel Westbrook of the Houston Rockets, and football ace Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns.
Tom Holland, famous for portraying Spider-Man in The Avengers movie series, also did the challenge and have posted a story today.
In his video, he nominated some of his Marvel co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Dave Batista, Mark Ruffalo, Chadwick Boseman, and Karen Gillian, Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo, and his Spider-Man: Far From Home co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.
Tom stepped out of the immediate Marvel Cinematic Universe and reached out to Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, and Black Adam star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
