One of the films that completed the “Magic Eight” of the festival was the Ricky Lee-written film “Culion,” featuring Iza Calzado, Merryl Soriano, and Jasmine Curtis-Lee.
John Lloyd Cruz, who has been on hiatus for acting since 2017, is set to make an appearance in the film.
Another movie added to the lineup was “3pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon” starring Coco Martin, Ai-Ai delas Alas and Jennylyn Mercado.
Also making the cut is the Brillante Mendoza-directed movie “Mindanao” starring Judy Ann Santos, and “Write About Love” with Miles Ocampo, Joem Bascon and Rocco Nacino.
The first four films that are part of the lineup were announced last July. These were “The Mall, The Merrier” (previously titled “Momalland) with Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis, “Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity” starring Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza, Kris Aquino’s “(K)ampon” and the Filipino adaptation of “Miracle in Cell No. 7” featuring Aga Muhlach and Bela Padilla.
However, “(K)ampon” was later replaced by “Sunod” as it was disqualified for filing its request for a change of its lead actor beyond the deadline. /je
