Gazini Ganados encourages people to help grandparents safe from COVID-19
Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados has the well-being of lolas and lolos in mind especially in the time of COVID-19.
The 24-year-old beauty queen posted this on Instagram:
“Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) confirmed cases in the Philippines have drastically increased in the last 2 weeks. Alarmingly, 70% of the reported deaths are senior citizens (60 years old and above). This means that older persons are becoming more susceptible to this virus and puts them in danger,” she wrote.
With that, she said Coalition of Services of the Elderly, Inc. (COSE) and Project Duyan for Sustainable Geriatric Health & Wellness are asking for financial & in-kind assistance to help provide personal protective equipment, health and hygiene materials, and ready to eat food for grandparents.
She shared bank details of the organizations for people to send their donations.
Gazini noted they’re also accepting donations in kind as face masks, alcohol, soap, and ready-to-eat food. They shall coordinate the collection and distribution accordingly.
“Let’s help keep lolo & lola safe from #COVID19! Thank you very much! Stay safe, everyone!”
