Erich hopes to stay sane with triplets role
Erich Gonzales takes her career to another level as she plays three characters in “The Blood Sisters,” the latest primetime offering from ABS-CBN.
The Kapamilya actress says this is her most challenging, daring and hardest role yet since she is portraying three characters in the series.
Erich is giving “The Blood Sisters” her best. “It is really a hard role to play since I am doing three characters. Imagine, in one day, I have to change my characters. There are scenes that have all three characters. So I have to change my makeup, the clothes and the hair. Plus I need to know the heart of each character,” she said at her solo press conference last Monday at ABS-CBN.
But Erich is grateful for the trust given her by Dreamscape which believes she is up to the challenge.
“I am very thankful to be given this project. This is a dream role so I am not leaving anything to chance. I am giving it my all. Yes, I am playing three characters and it’s a hard thing to do. I really have to work very hard to make sure that each character is different from each other. I really have to be prepared,” Erich explained.
When they shot in Baguio with Ms. Cherry Pie Picache, she said the scenes were so intense to the point that she felt her veins were going to explode. She felt like having a heart attack so the production team had an ambulance on the set.
Erich sees herself in each of the three characters. “There is an Erika in me, and Agatha and a Carrie. Just like Erika, I am willing to do everything for the people I love. Carrie is very passionate with her craft and so am I with my work. With Agatha, she is a go-getter. She will do everything to get what she wants,” she said.
She also gives credit to her amazing co-actors. “I get inspiration from my co-actors, to everyone who is part of the show. I am very grateful to them. They are very passionate and all of us are dedicated to our jobs. They give more than what is expected of them so I should do the same. All of us are working to make the show good.”
Since she is playing three characters, Erich sought the advice of Claudine Barretto who also played triplets in the 1999 Kapamilya series “Saan Ka Man Naroroon.”
She said Claudine advised her to stay sane. “She said doing three roles is exciting but I have to make sure that I stay sane. And don’t push myself too hard. If I am already tired I should also rest. But that won’t come from me. If I can still go on, I will go on. Even if I am already tired, unless they tell me work is finished, then I will do my work.”
“I am very passionate with my job. They won’t hear I’m tired or I want to go home. Doing ‘The Blood Sisters’ is not easy but the important thing is I should not go crazy.”
“The Blood Sisters” starts airing on Monday, February 12.
GMA Network unveils its newest Afternoon Prime drama series titled “The Stepdaughters” also beginning Monday.
Playing the lead roles in the series are Miss World 2013 Megan Young and versatile Kapuso actress Katrina Halili, with GMA’s prime leading man Mikael Daez.
“The Stepdaughters” is a story of two women who are both beautiful and intelligent but with personalities that couldn’t be any more different. They have always been destined to be rivals and both of them aren’t ones to back away from a fight.
In the series, Mayumi and Isabelle never really liked each other, even more so when Mayumi’s mother, Luisa, and Isabelle’s father, Hernan, fall for one another and get married, making them stepsisters.
This is the first project of Megan and Mikael as sweethearts. They have been on for seven years and they are happy that GMA-7 gave them the break to do an afternoon drama together.
The series is under the helm of director Paul Sta. Ana.
